Job summary

Mediclinic seeks a dedicated Emergency Medical Responder to attend to emergency calls and provide basic medical care within the defined scope of practice. You will work to ensure readiness for rapid response and support on-scene care while maintaining accurate patient reports.

Essentially, applicants should have a Basic Ambulance Assistant Certificate, 6–12 months of road BLS experience, and strong English communication skills, with a good grasp of EMS environment and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
• 6 months to 1 year road BLS experience preferred.
• Familiarity with EMS environment and operations.
• Understanding of HPCSA scope of practice and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Attend to emergency calls and provide basic medical care within scope of practice.

Required Education

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Basic Ambulance Assistant Certificate

DESIRED EDUCATION: Successful completion of training related to Clinical Practice Guidelines published by the Health Professions Council of South Africa will be advantageous. If not compliant with the clinical practice guidelines at the time of application you will be required to complete this training during your probation period if successful in your application.
