Job summary

Weir is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Manager in Isando to lead maintenance for buildings, infrastructure and critical systems on site. You will develop preventive maintenance plans, manage budgets and KPIs, and oversee contractors to ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role requires 5–10 years in multidisciplinary maintenance within industrial or mining environments, GCC and GMR 2.1, and strong leadership capabilities. Isando–based, onsite work with global reach.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related Engineering with maintenance management experience.
• Valid GCC and GMR 2.1 competency as required by legislation.
• Minimum 5–10 years’ experience managing multidisciplinary maintenance teams in large facilities.
• Proven expertise in maintenance strategy, compliance and contractor management.
• Strong leadership, decision-making and communication with a safety-first mindset.
• MBA or Project Management certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of buildings, infrastructure and critical systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).
• Develop preventive maintenance programs and coordinate repairs with contractors.
• Implement preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies to maximize reliability.
• Develop and execute annual and long-term maintenance plans; manage KPIs and budget control.
• Identify CAPEX needs and manage CAPEX projects from initiation to handover.
• Lead engineering and maintenance projects; ensure timely delivery with minimal disruption.
• Oversee contractor management and ensure safety, technical and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and develop the maintenance team; drive continuous improvement.
• Manage procurement, stores and cost control; optimize spares.
