Job summary

The Staff Connection is seeking an on-site Facilities Manager in Pretoria to oversee maintenance, appearance, and operations of the property. You will lead a maintenance team, handle daily repairs, and manage emergencies while driving preventative maintenance and ensuring safety standards are met.

Responsibilities include coordinating contractors, managing budgets, and maintaining records and KPIs. A hands-on winner with strong organisational skills and a valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate is required.
• Diploma or Degree in Facilities Management, Building Services or related field is required.
• 3–5 years’ experience in facilities or maintenance management.
• Strong technical aptitude and a hands-on approach.
• Good knowledge of preventative maintenance and contractor management.
• OHS, compliance and risk management knowledge.
• Computer literate with MS Office and facilities systems.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage people, suppliers and day-to-day operations.
• Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence.
• Willing to live on site.
• ONLY SA CITIZENS WILL BE CONSIDERED.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, appearance, cleanliness and functionality of the property.
• Manage and support a maintenance team with daily repairs and emergencies.
• Drive preventative maintenance and address issues promptly.
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure corrective action.
• Coordinate and manage contractors and service providers.
• Oversee cleaning, security, landscaping and outsourced services.
• Ensure OHS, health, safety and risk requirements are maintained.
• Keep records of inspections, incidents, repairs and maintenance.
• Manage maintenance-related stock, equipment, furniture and procurement.
• Monitor maintenance budgets and track purchase orders.
• Collaborate with Residence Manager and operations team.
• Provide leadership in the Residence Manager’s absence.
• Maintain facilities systems and reporting including KPIs.
