Job summary

Sheldon Recruitment is seeking an On-Site Service Technician for a permanent role in Cape Town, Western Cape. The ideal candidate has Matric, 1–3 years of electrical and maintenance experience, and a valid driver’s license. Strong communication, teamwork and problem‑solving skills are essential.

The role involves stock control, chemical handling, tank maintenance, and adherence to health and safety standards. A company car is provided in addition to provident and cell allowances.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
• 1–3 years’ electrical experience
• 1–3 years’ maintenance experience; use of power tools
• Valid driver’s license
• Intermediate MS Office and virtual programme skills (MS Teams, Zoom)
• Presentable with excellent communication and coordinating skills
• Able to work independently and in a team
• Calm under pressure; methodical and analytical mindset
• Honest, reliable and detail‑oriented

Responsibilities

• Maintain chemical storage areas and stock records
• Do stock rotation and recordkeeping for detergents
• Record detergents issued to departments (Stock Tanks, Guest Laundry, Garments & Hospitality)
• Weekly stock counts and reporting to management
• Monitor chemical mixing tanks and dosing pumps; report issues
• Check stock levels and replenish as needed
• Ensure good housekeeping and safety practices; wear PPE
• Regularly test and record alkalinity and flow rates
• Observe linen quality and ensure correct wash programs
• Collaborate with machine operators and staff to meet deadlines
