Job summary

Jobs2day SA is seeking an On-Site Service Technician in Cape Town, Western Cape to perform maintenance, installation, repair, and technical support at client sites. The role focuses on equipment reliability, safety, and responsive servicing in a facility-based setting.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in electrical/maintenance environments, a matric, basic fault-finding skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team while communicating effectively with clients.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Electrical certificate or diploma advantageous.
• 1–3 years' experience in an electrical or maintenance environment.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Basic fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on site equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify potential faults.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
• Repair and replace defective components where required.
• Use power tools and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with installations, upgrades, and commissioning of equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed according to company and client safety standards.
• Complete maintenance reports, service records, and job cards accurately.
• Maintain housekeeping standards within the work area.
• Liaise with clients and site personnel professionally.
• Respond to breakdowns and urgent maintenance requirements.
• Monitor equipment performance and report recurring issues.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company assets in good working order.
• Assist senior technicians and management with technical projects and site requirements.
