Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join our team in Cape Town. You will install, maintain, and repair specialized equipment at customer sites across the Western Cape, working autonomously to ensure peak performance and excellent on-site support.

The role requires hands-on technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills, with travel across the region and a customer-focused approach to service excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar hands-on role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with installation and repair experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willing to travel in the Cape Town area.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, configuration, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections for optimal performance.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions; replace faulty components as needed.
• Respond to emergency service calls to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate service records including parts used and time spent.
• Provide technical guidance and training to customer staff.
