Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer – Production Efficiency to join our client in Benoni, Gauteng. This on-site role focuses on analyzing and improving the production process to maximize output and minimize waste, working closely with production staff and management to implement data-driven solutions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering with 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, a solid grasp of lean tools, process mapping, time studies, and data analysis,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in an industrial engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
• Proficiency in process mapping, time studies, and data analysis.
• Experience with CAD software for layout design is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work effectively on-site in Benoni .
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and throughput.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production processes.
• Conduct time and motion studies to establish production standards and optimize labor utilization.
• Implement and manage lean manufacturing principles, such as 5S, Kaizen, and Kanban, to reduce waste.
• Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and optimal performance.
• Design and optimize plant layouts and workstation ergonomics for improved workflow and safety.
• Develop and maintain production-related metrics and performance dashboards.
• Train production personnel on new processes, techniques, and continuous improvement tools.
• Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
