Placements24 is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage the acquisition of goods and services in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on on-site procurement, supplier negotiations, and inventory support to keep operations running smoothly.

Key duties include processing POs, sourcing suppliers, and maintaining records. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in procurement, strong negotiation skills, and ERP experience, with full-time on-site work in Durban.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
• Experience with purchase orders and supplier negotiations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders accurately.
• Source reliable suppliers and obtain competitive quotes.
• Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve cost savings.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethics.
• Maintain procurement records including supplier info, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely procurement.
• Track orders and resolve delays.
• Assist in inventory management and forecasting.
• Prepare regular procurement reports for management review.
