Placements24 is seeking a proactive Purchasing Specialist to join our busy procurement department in Richards Bay, on-site. You will play a vital role in acquiring goods and services necessary for the company's operations, managing the full purchasing cycle from identification to finalizing orders.

You will negotiate with suppliers, maintain records, and collaborate with internal departments to meet timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using purchasing software and ERP systems.
• Excellent organizational abilities and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities in a demanding setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the purchase order process, from requisition approval to vendor confirmation and delivery tracking.
• Source and evaluate potential suppliers, obtaining quotes and ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value and ensure compliance.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, including contracts, invoices, and supplier performance data.
• Liaise with internal departments to understand their purchasing requirements and provide updates on order status.
• Resolve any issues related to orders, deliveries, or supplier performance promptly and effectively.
