Placements24 is seeking a Project Engineer for civil infrastructure projects in Upington, Northern Cape. You will contribute to planning, execution, and site supervision across road, water, and related works, working with site managers, engineers, and contractors.

A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and at least three years' construction experience are required. Proficiency in MS Office, with AutoCAD or Civil 3D being a plus; willingness to work on-site and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of civil engineering construction experience, preferably on infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant standards (e.g., SANS).
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of civil infrastructure projects.
• Support site management in coordinating daily construction activities and managing resources.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and safety regulations.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and as‑built drawings.
• Assist in managing project documentation, including requisitions, delivery notes, and daily site diaries.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project operations.
• Identify and report on potential issues, risks, and variations on site, proposing solutions.
• Ensure adherence to environmental management plans and safety protocols.
• Participate in site meetings and contribute to problem‑solving discussions.
