Job summary

Placements24 in Soweto is looking for a vigilant Control Room Operator to monitor and manage plant operations, respond to alarms, and adjust variables to sustain optimal production. You will communicate with field personnel to ensure safety and efficiency, using SCADA and DCS systems daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in process operations or instrumentation is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Control Room Operator in a process plant environment, preferably oil and gas.
• Proficiency with SCADA and DCS systems and process monitoring.
• Strong understanding of plant processes and safety procedures.
• Excellent observational skills, decision-making ability, and composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant operations continuously via SCADA and DCS systems.
• Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, process upsets, and emergency situations.
• Adjust process variables to maintain optimal production rates and product quality.
• Communicate effectively with field operators, supervisors, and other departments.
• Maintain accurate logs of operational activities, events, and parameters.
