Placements24 seeks an experienced Operations Director to oversee the North West Regional Hub in Klerksdorp, SA. The role combines on-site leadership with strategic remote planning to optimize stores, warehouses, and logistics across the region.

You will drive cost control, revenue growth, and service quality, leading senior managers and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards in a dynamic retail environment. A strong track record in retail operations and finance is essential.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within the retail sector.
• Proven experience managing multi-site operations and large operational teams.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, supply chain management, and logistics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic operational plans.
• Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and P&L oversight.
• Experience with retail management software and ERP systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to operational challenges.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operational activities within the North West Regional Hub, including retail stores, warehouses, and logistics.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve regional business objectives and performance targets.
• Manage and mentor a team of regional managers, store managers, and operational staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Ensure efficient inventory management, supply chain logistics, and stock control across all regional facilities.
• Monitor operational budgets, control expenses, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
• Drive initiatives to improve customer experience and satisfaction within the region.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with corporate departments to implement new policies, procedures, and technologies.
• Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, challenges, and areas for improvement.
• Lead and manage capital expenditure projects related to operational infrastructure and upgrades within the region.
