Large Hotel in Cape Town is looking for a reliable and guest-focused Night Auditor to ensure smooth overnight operations, accurate financial reporting and exceptional guest service.

Duties

• Manage the front desk and incoming calls during the overnight shift.
• Complete guest check-ins and check-outs in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Verify guest information, payment methods and account details.
• Handle guest enquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Complete all end-of-day tasks, financial reconciliations and required reports.
• Perform cash-handling duties and investigate, resolve and report account discrepancies.
• Work closely with all departments to ensure seamless operations and prompt guest service.
• Promote and upsell hotel products and services.
• Maintain Front Office productivity and compliance with operating standards, policies and procedures.
• Liaise with security regarding risks, safety concerns and matters involving guests or employees.
• Identify and report unsafe working conditions or procedures.
• Protect guest and employee privacy and maintain confidentiality.
• Handle sensitive matters with tact, respect and discretion.
• Assist with other duties according to operational requirements.

Requirements

• Hospitality qualification preferred.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a 4- or 5-star hospitality environment.
• Proficiency in Opera and Microsoft Office essential.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including financial reconciliation, reporting and data analysis.
• Sound financial acumen and excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, telephone and email etiquette.
• Strong planning, organisational and multitasking skills.
• Professional appearance and a positive, friendly attitude.
• Confident and calm under pressure, with the ability to work in a busy team environment.
• Strong work ethic, initiative and the ability to work independently.
