Job summary

ATS Client in Midrand is seeking a Senior NOC Engineer to join our high-performing technical operations team. You will lead escalation handling, monitor large-scale networks, and coordinate with field engineers to ensure service reliability.

You will mentor junior staff, participate in capacity planning, and improve network performance across VPN, VoIP and cloud environments. A relevant certification and 3–4 years NOC experience are required.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years' experience in a NOC/ISP networking environment.
• Relevant networking certification is required.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, routing protocols, and wireless infrastructure.
• Experience with wireless technologies and vendors such as Ubiquiti or Cambium.
• Understanding of access, core networking and topology design.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level technical support to field operations on escalated network issues.
• Oversee network incidents, outages, and service restoration processes.
• Monitor network performance and identify faults, congestion, or degradation.
• Investigate recurring connectivity issues with monitoring tools.
• Support VPN, VoIP, and cloud-related services.
• Manage capacity planning and client migrations to optimize performance.
• Configure and maintain routing, VLAN, MPLS, and IP addressing.
• Handle escalations from Tier 3 and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, RF, and field engineering teams.
• Assist with upgrades, changes, documentation, and projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide NOC operations.
• Ensure adherence to security standards and procedures.

A rapidly growing telecommunications company is looking for an experienced Senior NOC Engineer to join their high-performing technical operations team!

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-level technical support to field operations teams on escalated network and connectivity issues
• Oversee and manage critical network incidents, outages, and service restoration processes
• Continuously monitor network performance and proactively identify faults, congestion, and service degradation
• Investigate recurring sector and client connectivity issues using monitoring and diagnostic tools
• Support and troubleshoot advanced network services including VPN, VoIP, and cloud-related environments
• Manage network capacity planning and assist with client migrations to optimize performance
• Configure and maintain routing, VLAN, MPLS, and IP addressing environments
• Handle complex escalations from Tier 3 teams, customer experience departments, and internal stakeholders
• Work closely with infrastructure, RF, and field engineering teams to ensure network stability
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, network changes, documentation, and implementation projects
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance within the NOC environment
• Ensure adherence to network security standards and operational procedures

Job Experience and Skills Required

• 3-4 years' experience within a NOC or ISP networking environment
• Relevant networking certification required
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, routing protocols, and wireless network infrastructure
• Experience working with wireless technologies and vendors such as Ubiquiti or Cambium
• Good understanding of access networks, core networking, and network topology design
• Ability to analyse network behaviour, diagnose faults, and manage escalations effectively
• Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining large-scale network environments
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• CCNP-level networking knowledge will be highly advantageous
• Must be comfortable working rotational onsite shifts
