Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Network Administrator to join the IT department in Queenstown. This hybrid role combines on-site responsibilities for critical infrastructure with remote tasks for routine support and maintenance.

You will install, configure, and troubleshoot network systems, ensure security, and maintain documentation to guarantee connectivity and availability for the organization’s digital assets.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in network administration or IT support.
• Proficiency with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network hardware from major vendors.
• Experience with network security principles and tools including VPNs and IDS/IPS.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs).
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Implement and manage network security measures (VPNs, IDS, access controls).
• Perform regular network maintenance, updates, and patch management.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
