Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant and analytical Network Security Analyst to guard a telecommunications network in Queenstown. You will monitor traffic, detect threats, and respond to incidents to protect data and infrastructure.

The role requires a Bachelor in CS/Cybersecurity and at least 3 years in network security, with SIEM and firewall experience. You will work with advanced tools and participate in ongoing security improvements and staff training.

Qualifications

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network systems and security alerts for potential intrusions, malware, and policy violations.
• Investigate security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and develop incident response plans.
• Configure, manage, and maintain security devices such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices across the network.
• Provide security awareness training to staff and collaborate with IT teams on security initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in network security analysis or a related role.
• Proficiency in network security principles, protocols, and technologies.
• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
• Strong understanding of common cyber threats and attack vectors.
