Placements24 is seeking a diligent Civil Engineering Technologist to support municipal services in Klerksdorp, North West. The role covers planning, design, construction, and maintenance of water, sanitation, roads, and stormwater systems, with hybrid on-site and office work.

You will assist engineers, perform site inspections, prepare reports, and aid in asset management, while ensuring compliance with SA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
• Minimum 5 years of civil engineering experience focusing on municipal infrastructure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Understanding of South African municipal planning processes and legislation.
• Experience with water, sanitation, roads, or stormwater design is essential.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for municipal infrastructure projects.
• Conduct site inspections and surveys to gather data and monitor construction progress.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Provide technical assistance during the construction phase, liaising with contractors and site personnel.
• Ensure projects comply with relevant engineering standards, regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Assist in the maintenance and upgrading of existing municipal infrastructure assets.
• Operate relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Support the professional engineers in project management tasks and documentation.
• Participate in community consultations and stakeholder engagement as required.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of asset management plans.
