Job summary

Enablesa (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Relief Catering Manager to lead operations across multiple catering sites in Grahamstown (Makhanda). The role requires hands-on leadership, ensuring high service standards and seamless site-to-site coordination for the client’s food service operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Catering Manager/Unit Manager or similar food service management role.
• Strong knowledge of food production, catering operations, and kitchen management.
• Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel between sites when required.
• Strong administrative, stock control, and budgeting skills.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver''s license and reliable transport.
• Relevant hospitality, catering, or food service qualification will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide relief management support across various catering sites as required.
• Oversee daily kitchen, dining, and catering operations to ensure excellent service delivery.
• Manage and supervise catering staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Ensure food quality, hygiene, health, and safety standards are consistently maintained.
• Control stock, ordering, budgets, and food costs to maximize operational efficiency.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction at all times.
• Handle staffing challenges, operational issues, and last-minute site requirements effectively.
• Prepare management reports and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
