Job summary

Exxaro Resources invites applications for a dedicated MRP Controller to join the Central Inventory & Warehousing team at Matla Coal in Kriel, Mpumalanga. This permanent role focuses on optimizing inventory levels, managing stock availability, and implementing MRP auditing processes.

You will build relationships with customers and stakeholders, ensure compliance with governance and safety standards, and drive continuous improvement in inventory management.

Qualifications

• N Dip or higher in production/inventory management or related field.
• Relevant management certificates are highly desirable.
• Artisan with MQA/QCTO accreditation is essential.

Responsibilities

• Optimize inventory levels and identify surplus items for disposal.
• Develop and implement MRP audit procedures to ensure governance & safety compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Optimize inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability for procurement requirements while identifying surplus items for timely disposal.
• Develop and implement rigorous Material Requirements Planning (MRP) audit procedures to guarantee compliance with corporate governance and safety regulations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders to proactively anticipate and respond to demand fluctuations.
• Ensure strict adherence to company policies, regulatory standards, and statutory requirements in all inventory management activities.
• Promote a safe and collaborative work environment by enforcing health and safety protocols and addressing hazardous practices promptly.
• Streamline and standardize inventory management processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce unnecessary complexity.
• Conduct quality assurance on inventory items to ensure compliance with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and codification standards.
• Manage all MRP master data accurately and implement inventory strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
• Provide expert guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders to foster a disciplined and effective inventory management culture.
• Champion continuous learning, innovation, and inclusivity within the team to adapt swiftly to evolving business needs and enhance collaboration.

Minimum Requirements

• N Dip: Production & Inventory Management (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate: Basic Management Program (Essential/Minimum)
• Relevant Trade: Artisan with MQA/QCTO Accreditation (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate First Line Management (Recommended/Desirable)
• Recommended B Tech or B Degree in a relevant field
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, or related operations
• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Strong understanding of inventory control, MRP parameters, and stock optimisation
• Experience with compliance, governance, and safety standards in the workplace
• Ability to develop and maintain strong customer and client relationships
• Proven track record in effective people management and performance management
