Job summary

Staff Unlimited Recruitment is helping a leading retailer in the Eastern Cape find an experienced Inventory & Operations Supervisor to manage stock, optimize warehouse processes, and drive efficiency across the supply chain.

You will forecast demand, oversee procurement liaison, supervise warehouse and fleet staff, and ensure stock accuracy, safety standards, and timely deliveries in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse management within retail.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis, ERP systems, and stock control tools.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain optimum stock levels through forecasting and replenishment.
• Oversee re-order reports, coordinate with procurement, manage stock levels.
• Monitor stock turns, slow-moving items, and excess inventory.
• Ensure accurate inventory records and purchasing from approved suppliers.
• Obtain quotations, negotiate prices, lead times, and service levels with regional procurement.
• Process purchase orders and manage supplier relationships.
• Supervise warehouse operations including receiving, storage, packing, and dispatch.
• Coordinate urgent deliveries and inter-branch transfers.
• Lead stock takes and analyse variances for corrective actions.
• Ensure health and safety regulations and warehouse standards are followed.
• Manage maintenance of equipment and security controls.
• Supervise warehouse, fleet, and inventory staff, overseeing workload and performance.
• Drive coaching, training, and disciplinary processes.
• Maintain records of inventory, procurement, and operational reports.
• Provide management with insights into operational and inventory performance.
