Job summary

Exxaro Resources in Kriel, Mpumalanga invites a Technical Officer to execute reconditioning strategies, oversee supplier relationships, and manage inventory in the Reclamation Yard. The role emphasises compliance, safety, and continuous process improvements across procurement activities.

You'll work to ensure cost-effective repairs, accurate records, and timely procurement while supporting audits and achieving SLAs in a dynamic mining environment.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or higher in a relevant field with SCM exposure.
• Experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing and Maintenance environments.
• Reconditioning experience within supply chain and maintenance areas.
• Competence in SAP Position Specific Module and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with legislation, safety standards and company policies.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities to boost efficiency and safety.
• Maintain relationships with internal teams and suppliers to meet SLAs.
• Conduct inventory control and technical inspections in the Reclamation Yard.
• Manage reconditioning requisitions, POs and monitor supplier performance.
• Participate in audits and drive reclamation and reconditioning improvements.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to all relevant legislation, safety standards, and company policies throughout reclamation and reconditioning activities.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operational efficiency and enhance workplace safety.
• Maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external suppliers to meet business objectives and service level agreements.
• Conduct regular inventory control and technical inspections within the Reclamation Yard to ensure accurate records and compliance with safety requirements.
• Manage reconditioning requisitions, purchase orders, and monitor supplier performance to achieve cost-effective and timely repairs.
• Participate actively in audit processes and develop strategies for continuous improvement in reclamation and reconditioning operations.
• Promote a collaborative team environment by supporting performance management and reinforcing company values and culture.
• Oversee the organisation and execution of auctions and other sales processes for the disposal of redundant materials.
• Support supply chain activities by leveraging systems infrastructure and technology to enhance process efficiency.
• Champion a culture of safety and health by ensuring compliance with all SHE policies and fostering a safe work environment.

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma in a relevant field (Essential/Minimum or)
• N Diploma in Supply Chain Management (Essential/Minimum)
• N4 Technical qualification (Essential/Minimum)
• Trade: Artisan (Relevant), MQA/QCTO Accreditation (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate in First Line Management (Essential/Minimum)
• B Tech in a relevant field (Recommended/Desirable)
• 3-5 years of experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Maintenance environments (Essential/Minimum)
• Experience in Reconditioning within Supply Chain and Maintenance areas is required
• Competence in SAP Position Specific Module (Essential/Minimum)
• Proficiency in MS Office relevant packages (Essential/Minimum)
• Valid Public Driver's License, Code B (Essential/Minimum)
