Job summary

Empathy Lab by EPAM in South Africa is seeking an experienced Motion Designer to join our remote team. You will craft frame‑by‑frame storytelling that turns data and AI concepts into compelling brand content.

You’ll collaborate with a diverse creative group and use 2D/3D software to deliver engaging work for web, mobile, and video platforms, meeting tight deadlines while maintaining creative standards. Two to three years studio or agency experience and a strong portfolio are required.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of studio or agency experience.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent diploma desired.
• Proficient in 2D/3D animation software listed.

Responsibilities

• Create powerful stories through motion design that capture and engage audiences
• Apply strong knowledge of storytelling, rhythm, composition and pace to all projects
• Use a variety of 2D and 3D animation software to produce high-quality content
• Stay up to date with the latest trends in visual and motion design
• Draw from a broad pool of references and inspiration to inform creative work
• Partner with creative team members and key stakeholders to develop content for web, mobile, video and other platforms
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong project management skills
• Meet with clients to understand needs and share creative ideas
• Communicate clearly, interpret feedback and meet tight deadlines
• Maintain compliance with company guidelines and design standards

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or equivalent diploma desired
• Two to three years of experience in a studio or agency setting
• Strong technical skills in 2D and 3D animation software, including After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Frame.io, Unreal and Figma
• Experience with social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
• Familiarity with After Effects expressions, Trapcode Suite, VideoCopilot Element 3D, Plexus and 3D integration
• Ability to build creative and unique ideas
• Confidence to communicate and present ideas to peers
• Flexibility to adapt ideas to suit client expectations
• Aptitude to work constructively under stress in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
• Awareness of digital media and evolving online platforms
• Innovative approach to advertising execution
