Placements24 is seeking a proficient Mobile Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our Randburg operations. You will maintain the health and uptime of a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment, performing inspections, routine maintenance, and repairs to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires hands-on mechanical skill, strong diagnostic abilities, and the ability to work independently or with a team, ensuring safety standards and accurate service records are kept.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Fleet Maintenance Technician or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across vehicle systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and automotive repair equipment.
• Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and braking systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Conduct thorough inspections to ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain service records using the fleet management software.
• Respond to roadside breakdowns with emergency repair services.
• Order and manage spare parts inventory as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake checks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across various vehicle types.
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain accurate service records for all fleet assets using the company's fleet management software .
• Respond promptly to roadside breakdowns and provide emergency repair services.
• Order and manage spare parts inventory as needed for repairs.
