Placements24 is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to join their East London workshop. You will handle routine maintenance, repairs, and servicing of a diverse delivery-vehicle fleet to ensure reliability and safety for operations in the Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and thorough record‑keeping. A valid driver’s license and hands-on workshop experience are essential for contributing to a modern, safety‑driven logistics operation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Fleet Maintenance Technician or Automotive Mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills related to vehicle mechanics and systems.
• Proficiency with common automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of South African roadworthiness standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all fleet vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in trucks, vans, and other fleet vehicles using diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and to a high standard, meeting safety and operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on each vehicle.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and address potential issues before they impact operations.
