Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Johannesburg seeks a Facilities Manager to support mission facilities and properties, supervising the mission home attendant and mission driver while ensuring maintenance standards and cost controls. Qualifications

• Minimum a National Diploma or Bachelor's degree required.
• At least five years of related facilities and property management experience.
• Three years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary frontline management.
• Professional communication with mission leaders, contractors and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Assist Mission Support Manager and meet the mission's temporal needs.
• Meet regularly with the Mission President to understand mission needs.
• Supervise mission home attendant and mission driver.
• In partnership with HR, hires or terminates employees and recommends promotions, or other changes of status.
• Conduct annual performance reviews, approve expenses, and coordinate onboarding, and worker claims with HR.
• Negotiate apartment leases, renewals, and closures.
• Scope and manage building maintenance projects.
• Manage resources and assign work to vendors to meet cost, quality and timeline objectives.
• Perform inspections of mission facilities to ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintain inventory of furnishings and ensure proper disposal of excess items.
• Maintain relationships with mission leaders, missionaries, and vendors.
