Hexagon Autonomous Solutions in Johannesburg is seeking a Project Engineer to plan, coordinate, and execute technical mining projects ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards.

The role combines engineering with project management across design, implementation, testing and handover, including risk mitigation, resource planning, and close collaboration with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Computer / Mining / Electrical /Electronic) or related field.
• 3 years mining industry experience or related role.
• Proficient in English; French/Portuguese is a plus.
• Experience with Postgres, SQLite, SQL Server, Linux, Linux shell scripting, Ubuntu.
• Experience with remote teams is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Actively work on product/project deployment of complex mining solutions in a hands-on manner.
• Support and maintain software.
• Deliver bespoke customization as required.
• Troubleshoot system issues.
• Own and implement customer system configurations.
• Implement system customizations using scripting tools.
• Participate in onsite system installation efforts.
• Provide risk assessments and status updates to stakeholders.
• Maintain knowledge of current product offerings and technologies.
