Job summary

Hexagon Mining, Inc. is seeking a Support Engineer to deploy, support, and optimize critical technology systems across mining operations. This role ensures high system availability, performance, and reliability while delivering measurable operational value to customers.

You will provide both onsite and remote technical support, troubleshoot complex multi-system environments. The engineer acts as a key interface between customers, engineering, and product teams, and participates in a 24/7 on-call

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years experience in Industrial/Mining Technology, IoT platforms.
• Experience managing Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or Perl).
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server).
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
• Proven experience troubleshooting complex, integrated systems in production environments.
• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and configure on-premise and cloud-based system architectures.
• Deploy servers (Linux/Windows) in site and cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Configure and integrate customer systems with bespoke customisations.
• Maintain system performance, availability, and capacity across distributed environments.
• Perform regular health checks, patching, and upgrades.
• Develop high-quality technical documentation (SOPs, configurations).
• Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical operations.
• Lead root cause analyses and implement preventive measures.
• Analyse system performance data to identify trends and optimisation opportunities.
• Ensure security best practices and change management adherence.
