Job summary

Hexagon Mining is seeking a Hardware Technician to provide site-based and remote system support, deploying new and upgraded mining systems at customer sites. You will perform basic troubleshooting, configuration, and develop procedures and reports to meet customer needs.

You will work with project managers to ensure timely, within-budget deployments and maintain safety and quality standards on site.

Qualifications

• Experience applying technology in a harsh industrial environment.
• Good analytical skills to diagnose problems quickly and deliver solutions.
• Excellent communication and ability to adapt to varying client technical levels.
• Experience in customer-oriented environments.
• Knowledge of general network infrastructure and related technical experience.
• Ability to liaise empathetically with customers and work in a team or alone.
• Follows safety procedures and uses MS Office for documentation.
• Supports health and safety measures on mining sites.

Responsibilities

• Define and review project proposals and plans with colleagues and customers.
• Execute projects including phases, elements and schedules.
• Determine project specifications from design and customer requirements.
• Prepare cost estimates.
• Load configurations and operating systems onto computing equipment per change management.
• Maintain and monitor project progress and coordinate activities.
• Administer service agreements and maintain deployment data for systems.
• Write computer programs and back up data as needed.
• Contribute to team results and maintain relationships with managers and engineers.
• Identify business risks, inefficiencies and opportunities related to applications.
• Monitor market for new solutions and recommend improvements.
