Placements24 is seeking an experienced Exploration Geologist to join its Stellenbosch team, focusing on new mineral discoveries. The role is remote-first and involves collaboration with a global group of geoscientists and engineers.

You will plan and execute exploration programs, conduct field mapping and sampling, and interpret data to identify resource deposits. A strong background in GIS and modeling is required.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Geology or related Earth Science.
• Minimum of 6 years of mineral exploration geology experience with focus on target generation.
• Proven success in identifying and defining new mineral prospects.
• Proficiency with GIS and geological modeling software.
• Strong metallogeny knowledge and regionally relevant deposit models.
• Analytical, problem-solving and technical writing skills; adaptable to a remote work environment.

Responsibilities

About the Role

This role involves planning and executing exploration programs, conducting field mapping, sampling, and data interpretation to identify and evaluate potential resource deposits.
