Placements24 is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to enhance energy management in Rustenburg's mining operations. You will design, implement, and maintain control systems integrating with mining equipment and energy sources.

You will work hands-on at site with SCADA, PLCs, and HMI, collaborating with electrical and mechanical teams to optimize power use and reliability, while ensuring safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems engineering with industrial automation.
• Proficiency in PLC platforms (Siemens, Rockwell) and HMI/SCADA software.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement SCADA and PLC-based control systems for energy management and automation within mining facilities.
• Configure, test, and commission industrial control hardware and software, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including P&IDs, control narratives, and functional design specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to control systems, sensors, and actuators to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to optimize energy consumption and improve operational efficiency.
