Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Controls Engineer for a prominent industrial manufacturing firm in Benoni to design, implement, and optimize automated control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA to improve production efficiency.

The role involves integrating control systems with new and existing machinery, collaborating with mechanical engineers and production teams, and producing comprehensive technical documentation and operating manuals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years in industrial controls engineering and automation.
• Proficiency in programming major PLC platforms (Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley) and HMI software.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, industrial networks, and instrumentation.
• Experience with SCADA system implementation and configuration.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and systematic troubleshooting in Benoni.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems for automated manufacturing processes.
• Develop and implement SCADA systems for monitoring, data acquisition, and process control.
• Specify and select industrial control hardware, including sensors, actuators, drives, and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and production teams to integrate control systems into new and existing machinery.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including control system diagrams, code, and operating manuals.
• Ensure all control systems comply with safety standards, industry best practices, and environmental regulations.
