Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join a globally distributed team supporting operations from Rustenburg. This fully remote role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced control systems for diverse industrial applications in the energy sector.

Responsibilities include PLC/DCS design, algorithm development, remote troubleshooting, and cross-time-zone collaboration, with emphasis on documentation and ongoing tech updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in designing and implementing industrial control systems.
• Experience programming PLCs (ladder logic, structured text) and DCS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and program PLCs and distributed control systems (DCS).
• Develop and implement sophisticated control algorithms for automation.
• Troubleshoot control systems remotely with timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and field technicians across time zones to commission systems.
• Create and maintain detailed docs (P&IDs, logic diagrams, manuals).
• Stay updated on advancements in control system technology.
