Placements24 in Polokwane is seeking an Electrical Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated control systems across manufacturing facilities. You will work with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA to improve efficiency, safety, and productivity.

The ideal candidate has hands-on problem-solving skills, 5+ years in industrial automation, and a degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics. Relocation support may be offered; a stable environment focused on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
5+ years in industrial automation and control systems.
Proficiency in PLC/HMI/SCADA programming across brands.
Strong knowledge of industrial networks, sensors and motor control.
Experience with robotics and motion control is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, program, and commission PLC and HMI systems for industrial automation processes.
Develop and implement SCADA systems for monitoring, data acquisition, and process control.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and automation equipment, minimizing downtime.
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to identify areas for automation improvements.
Ensure all automation systems comply with safety standards and operational requirements.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for all automation hardware, software, and programming.
