Placements24 seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to support mining operations in Welkom, South Africa. The role combines on-site collaboration with remote design work, ensuring safe and efficient electrical infrastructure for mining equipment and control systems.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of design experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and a strong understanding of high/medium voltage, VFDs, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical design, preferably in mining or heavy industrial sectors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar software is required.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for mining equipment, power distribution, and control applications.
• Develop detailed schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Perform load calculations, fault current analysis, and equipment specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with mining safety standards and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, site personnel, and vendors to ensure project success.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during installation and operation.
