Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize mineral processing circuits (crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching).

• Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions to maximize efficiency.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Metallurgist specializing in mineral processing to join their processing plant in Centurion . This role is vital for optimizing the extraction and recovery of valuable minerals from ore. You will be responsible for process development, troubleshooting, and ensuring the efficient operation of flotation, leaching, and other mineral processing circuits. The ideal candidate will have a strong theoretical background combined with practical experience in mineral processing, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to analyze complex process data to drive efficiency and yield. This position is key to maximizing the value derived from the mined ore.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize mineral processing circuits (e.g., crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching).
• Conduct laboratory and pilot plant test work to evaluate new processes and improve existing ones.
• Analyze plant operational data to identify opportunities for improving recovery, grade, and throughput.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures for process monitoring and product analysis.

Requirements
