Job summary

Glencore, a leader in global natural resources, seeks a Mine Supervisor to lead surface/underground shifts in Steelpoort, SA. You will drive production targets, uphold HSEC standards, and guide crews in safety and efficiency while enforcing mine procedures.

The role requires a blasting certificate, a shift supervisor certificate (advantageous), and strong communication. You will work in a high-demand mining environment with focus on safety and performance.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Blasting certificate for scheduled mines is required.
• Shift Supervisor Certificate of competence is advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Miner.
• Minimum 5 years in board & pillar or trackless mining environment.
• Demonstrated accuracy, timeliness and results-driven approach.
• Good communication skills and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Report to Mine Overseer and contribute to achieving production targets.
• Comply with the company’s HSEC system.
• Support and drive production performance improvements.
• Ensure implementation of management decisions and compliance with legal requirements.
• Prioritise his/her own safety and the safety of the crew.
• Ensure mine standards and procedures are followed.
