Job summary

Valterra Platinum, a leading PGM producer, seeks a Band 5 Mining Leader to oversee Safety & Health for mine operations. The role reports to the Senior General Manager and requires extensive mining experience and licensure.

Based at Mototolo Der Brochen, the position focuses on safe, efficient planning, costing, and performance delivery. The successful candidate will drive compliance with mandatory safety standards, coordinate with Corporate and Technical Services, and lead cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• Mining degree or diploma and/or Mine Managers Certificate of Competence.
• Blasting Certificate required.
• Valid driver’s license code 08.

Responsibilities

• Oversee application of Safety & Health principles across all discipline interactions.
• Ensure zero harm and prevent fatalities through personal safety accountability.
• Develop discipline-specific plans to reduce risk exposure.
• Monitor effectiveness of Safety & Health systems at site level.
• Contribute inputs to Life of Asset Plan and Resource Development Plan.
• Break down group targets to concrete site budgets and communicate to teams.
