About the Role

Our client, a leading diversified mining company, is actively seeking a highly accomplished and results-driven Mine Production Manager to oversee operations at their facility in Tembisa, Gauteng. This critical leadership role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable extraction of resources. The successful candidate will lead a large operational team, implement best practices in mining and safety, and ensure production targets are consistently met and exceeded. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive production plans to achieve operational targets in line with company objectives for the Tembisa, Gauteng mine.


• Manage all aspects of daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling, ensuring optimal resource utilization.


• Oversee the maintenance and deployment of mining equipment, coordinating with the maintenance department to minimize downtime.


• Implement and enforce stringent safety protocols and environmental regulations, fostering a zero-harm safety culture.


• Monitor production performance, analyze key metrics, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.


• Manage operational budgets, controlling costs and seeking opportunities for operational improvements.


• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of mine supervisors, operators, and support staff.


• Ensure compliance with all relevant mining legislation and company policies.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a related technical discipline.


• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine operations management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.


• Proven experience in managing large-scale open-pit or underground mining operations.
