Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Mine Operations Manager for a major Pretoria mining project. You will assume full responsibility for planning, production, safety, and environmental compliance, driving operational efficiency and leading a high‑performing team.

The role demands deep open‑pit/underground mining knowledge, excellent leadership and stakeholder management, and a proven track record of delivering large-scale, cost‑efficient operations within regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related technical discipline.
• MBA or advanced degree is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic operational plans to achieve production targets, cost objectives, and safety standards.
• Oversee all mining operations including drilling, blasting, material handling, and mine infrastructure maintenance.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations with robust risk management systems.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Extensive experience (10+ years) in mine management, with a proven track record of leading large-scale operations.
• In-depth knowledge of open-pit and/or underground mining methods, technologies, and equipment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and improve operational performance.
