Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Mine Manager to lead open pit operations near Tembisa in Gauteng. You will oversee planning, production, maintenance, safety, and cost management, driving productivity and profitability while fostering a safety-first culture.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team of mining engineers and operators, implement best practices, monitor KPIs, and ensure regulatory compliance. A strong track record in open pit mining and budget control is essential.

Qualifications

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of mining engineers, supervisors, and operational staff.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive efficiency and productivity.
• Oversee the management and maintenance of all mining fleet and equipment, ensuring optimal performance.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mining operations management, with a strong focus on open pit environments.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale mining operations and budgets.
• Strong understanding of mine planning software, safety protocols, and environmental compliance.

• Management or blasting certificate will be advantageous.
