Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mine Planning Superintendent to lead the planning department at operations in East London, Eastern Cape. You will oversee a team of mining engineers and planners, driving long-term and short-term mine plans to ensure safe, economical and compliant designs.

The role requires a BSc or BEng in Mining Engineering, 8+ years in mine planning with at least 3 in supervision, and proficiency in Deswik or Vulcan.

About the Role

This senior role is responsible for the strategic development and execution of mine plans, ensuring optimal resource utilization, safety, and economic viability. You will oversee a team of mining engineers and planners, driving efficiency and innovation in mine design and scheduling. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in open pit or underground mine planning and a proven ability to manage complex projects within the Eastern Cape mining sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of long-term and short-term mine plans.
• Manage and mentor the mine planning team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure mine plans are technically sound, economically feasible, and compliant with safety and environmental regulations.
