Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mine Operations Supervisor to oversee daily production at a mine site near Soweto, Gauteng. You will lead drilling, blasting, loading and hauling, ensuring safety, efficiency and adherence to plans.

The role requires strong leadership, a Mine Supervisor's certificate or equivalent, and a track record in mining operations. You will manage a motivated team, coordinate with maintenance, and report on performance and safety metrics.

Qualifications

• Mine Supervisor's Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' mining operations experience, with 2+ years in supervision.
• Strong knowledge of underground and/or open-pit mining methods.
• Proven leadership and team-management skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in mining.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, and material handling.
• Ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently.
• Manage and motivate a team of miners, operators, and other site personnel.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
• Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs.
• Report on operational performance, including production volumes, costs, and safety metrics.
