Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years in mining with ≥4 years in supervisory/management.
• Experience in large-scale mining operations (underground or open-pit).
• Strong knowledge of mining methods, equipment, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in mine planning and production management software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily mine production, including drilling, blasting, loading and hauling.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental regulations and company policies are followed.
• Develop and implement operational plans to meet targets and quality standards.
• Manage costs, identifying efficiency improvements and cost savings.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of shift supervisors, operators and staff.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and training programs for the operations team.
• Oversee equipment utilization and maintenance for optimal performance.

This senior role is responsible for ensuring that all mining operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production targets and strategic goals. You will lead and manage a diverse team of operational staff, focusing on optimizing resource utilization, managing costs, and maintaining high standards of safety and environmental performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities and a proven track record in managing complex underground or open-pit mining operations .

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all aspects of daily mine production, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Develop and implement operational plans to meet or exceed production targets and quality standards.
• Manage operational costs, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of shift supervisors, operators, and other operational personnel.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and implement training programs for the operations team.
• Oversee the effective utilization and maintenance of mining equipment.

Requirements
