Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mine Operations Superintendent to lead our client’s Upington-based mining activities. The role requires managing open-pit and underground operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost control.

You will guide a team of supervisors and engineers to meet production targets in a dynamic mining environment. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering and at least 10 years in mine operations, including 5 years in a supervisory role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive mine operations experience with 5+ years in supervision/management.
• Open-pit and/or underground mining experience; strong knowledge of mining methods and safety.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and manage all daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and ground support.
• Develop, implement, and monitor operational plans to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies.
• Manage and mentor a team of mining supervisors, foremen, and operational staff.
• Control operational costs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with mine planning, engineering, and maintenance departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits.
• Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Report on operational performance, including production volumes, costs, and safety metrics.

Our client, a dynamic force in the Mining industry, is seeking a results-driven and experienced Mine Operations Superintendent to lead their mining operations. This pivotal role is based in Upington, Northern Cape, ZA , and requires a seasoned leader with a proven track record in managing large-scale mining activities, encompassing both open-pit and underground environments where applicable. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of mine production, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while meeting production targets.
