Our client is seeking a results-oriented Mine Maintenance Manager to lead their maintenance operations in Klerksdorp. This leadership role is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of all maintenance activities for fixed and mobile plant equipment within the mining operation. You will focus on maximizing equipment availability, minimizing downtime, and controlling maintenance costs while ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance. The successful candidate will be a proven leader with a strong technical background and a commitment to implementing best practices in maintenance management and continuous improvement within the North West mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies, including preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
• Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation.
• Oversee a team of maintenance supervisors, technicians, and artisans, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes for maintenance supplies.
• Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, root causes of failures, and areas for improvement.
• Implement and manage maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Requirements

• Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems of mining equipment (e.g., crushers, conveyors, haul trucks, excavators).
• Proven experience with CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo) and predictive maintenance technologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertaining to mining maintenance.
