Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Direct all underground mining operations, including drilling, blasting, ore extraction and hauling.
• Develop short- and long-term production plans to meet targets.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Oversee maintenance and readiness of mining equipment and infrastructure.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource utilization.
• Lead and develop a diverse team of mining professionals and staff

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and direct all underground mining operations, including drilling, blasting, ore extraction, and hauling.
• Develop and implement short and long-term mine production plans and schedules to meet company targets.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of all mining equipment and infrastructure.
• Manage operational budgets, control costs, and optimize resource utilization.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of mining professionals and operational staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in underground mining operations, with at least 5 years in a management role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale underground mining operations and achieving production targets.
• Strong understanding of mine planning, rock mechanics, ventilation, and mine safety systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Valid Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (or equivalent).
