Qualifications

• 7+ years of maintenance management experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Bachelor's or technical diploma in Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
• Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP PM.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations for mine maintenance.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Mine Maintenance Superintendent to lead their maintenance department in Randburg . This critical role oversees the planning, execution, and management of all maintenance activities for fixed and mobile mining equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency. You will lead a team of maintenance professionals, implement best practices in reliability-centered maintenance, and manage budgets to ensure cost-effective operations. This hybrid position requires a blend of on-site supervision and strategic planning to support the demanding needs of the Gauteng mining operations .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies for all plant and mobile mining equipment.
• Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost control and efficient resource allocation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance supervisors, technicians, and artisans.
• Oversee the implementation of preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to maintenance activities.
• Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, improve reliability, and optimize equipment performance.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in maintenance management within the mining or heavy industry sector .
• Proven experience with maintenance planning software and CMMS systems (e.g., SAP PM).
• Strong understanding of maintenance best practices, including reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and condition monitoring.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures applicable to mine maintenance.
