Placements24 seeks a hands-on Mine Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team in Mahikeng, North West. You will oversee daily maintenance activities, manage preventative maintenance schedules, and ensure prompt repairs to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical or electrical background, proven leadership, and deep understanding of heavy mining equipment. This role requires a proactive individual focused on safety and operational efficiency in a demanding mine

Qualifications

• Trade qualification (e.g., Mechanical Fitter, Electrician) or a relevant Engineering Diploma/Degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance supervision, preferably within mining or heavy industrial sector.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a maintenance team.
• Strong understanding of heavy mining equipment (e.g., excavators, drills, crushers, conveyors).
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance strategies and CMMS.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate maintenance personnel (mechanics, electricians, artisans).
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for mining equipment and plant infrastructure.
• Oversee troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy machinery.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities.
• Manage spare parts inventory and requisitions, optimizing stock levels.
