Placements24 is seeking a proactive Mine Maintenance Engineer to oversee maintenance and reliability of plant and mobile equipment at a mining site near Kimberley. You will develop maintenance strategies, manage teams, and optimize spare parts inventory to minimize downtime and maximize safety and efficiency.

The role requires a strong mechanical or electrical engineering background, 5+ years in heavy industry maintenance, and proven leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance engineering in mining/heavy industry.
• Experience leading maintenance teams and overseeing complex repair projects.
• Strong knowledge of heavy mobile equipment and fixed plant machinery.
• Familiarity with CMMS and predictive maintenance technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership and communication skills near Kimberley.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs for mining plant and mobile equipment.
• Manage the maintenance department, including scheduling, resource allocation, and performance monitoring of maintenance staff.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to identify root causes and implement effective repair solutions.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of heavy mobile equipment (haul trucks, excavators, drills) and fixed plant machinery.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes to ensure availability and cost-effectiveness.

About the Role

This role is critical for minimizing downtime, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of safety. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance strategies, managing maintenance teams, and optimizing spare parts inventory. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical or electrical engineering background, extensive experience in heavy industrial maintenance, and a proven ability to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.

Key Responsibilities
