Placements24 is seeking a Mine Geologist near Stellenbosch to map, logging cores, sample collection and model geological data to support ore delineation and mine planning.

The role involves working with mine operations and engineering teams, using Leapfrog and ArcGIS for geological modeling, and ensuring safety and quality in field activities. A Bachelor's in Geology and at least 3 years' mining experience are required.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mine Geologist to join their team near Stellenbosch . This role is integral to understanding and defining the geological characteristics of their mineral assets. You will be responsible for geological mapping, core logging, sampling, and data interpretation to delineate ore bodies and support mine planning. Working closely with mine operations and engineering teams, you will contribute directly to optimizing resource extraction and ensuring geological continuity. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and surveys to delineate ore bodies and assess geological structures.
• Log and interpret diamond drill core, rock chip, and other geological samples.
• Develop and maintain geological models using specialized software, ensuring accuracy of resource estimations.
• Collaborate with mine planning and production teams to provide geological input for mine development and operations.
• Monitor geological conditions in active mine workings and report on any changes or anomalies.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices in all field and logging activities.

Requirements
